Samsung Explores Perplexity AI Integration to Diversify Beyond Google’s Gemini
Samsung is in advanced discussions with AI startup Perplexity, aiming to integrate its technology deeply into future Galaxy devices. The partnership could see Perplexity become the default assistant on the Galaxy S26 series, replacing some reliance on Google’s Gemini. This MOVE signals Samsung’s ambition to enhance its AI capabilities and reduce dependence on external ecosystems.
The deal may include pre-installing Perplexity’s app and embedding its search functions into Samsung’s native browser. Bixby, Samsung’s underperforming voice assistant, could also receive a significant upgrade through this collaboration. A formal announcement is expected by year-end.
